VIDEOTAPE SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Please provide a video that meets these requirements:

LENGTH: MAXIMUM OF 7 MINUTES.

FORMAT: Mini-DV or DVD

CONTENT: There is no "right" or "wrong" thing to say or do on a tape, we just want to get to know your family. But there is one RULE: DO NOT READ FROM A SCRIPT OR MEMORIZE THINGS TO SAY (we want to see you talking as if you're in a conversation – again there are no "mistakes," just you being you!)

PLEASE make sure the LIGHTING is in front of you, NOT behind you and the SOUND is good before you start filming. Watch the tape before submitting to make sure your entire family can be seen and heard well.

Please complete the following elements in your seven minute tape; but be as creative as you like while fulfilling what we're asking of you. Remember, ENTHUSIASM goes a long way!!!!!!

1. INTRO
Start by doing a family introduction, all members in one shot, all in one voice (example: "Hi! We're the Johnsons!"). Then have each member say their name like a family Mouseketeer role call. Decide together what your family type/theme is (i.e. All American Family, The Real Life "Griswalds", The Hippie Family, The Rancher Family, The Sports Fans, The Farmer Family, City Slickers, The Blue Bloods, The Outdoorsy Family, The Biker Family, The Noisy Family, The Academic Family, etc.) and dress the part for the video. Remember, this is an amazing show and there is a lot of competition to get the chance to participate so be sure to really bring as much energy and creativity as you can.

2. QUESTIONS AND STORYTELLING
- Brief list of interests of each family member
- Someone tell a brief, funny story about another family member
- A funny and/or adventurous family trip story
- Kids, tell us your pet peeves about your parents
- Parents, tell us your pet peeves about your kids
- Tell us about your family's dream vacation

3. KIDS TEACH THE PARENTS
Roll the camera, the kids have 1 minute to teach their parents something they know how to do and have them repeat it. (Example: fold a paper crane, juggle a soccer ball, tie a knot….anything!) Time it – you must BEAT THE CLOCK!

4. SHOW US WHERE YOU LIVE
Briefly introduce us to what makes your family unique. Walk around the house and show us your home, your insane bottle cap collection, your personalized motorcycles, your homemade furniture, your favorite parts of the house that summarizes who you are as a family. Please avoid clothing with logos.

With all of it, HAVE FUN and LET'S SEE YOUR PERSONALITY!!!
